. . .i wouldn't call it a clique. How would they keep you out if you just started posting on those threads? Answer: They can't If you can't be excluded, then it's not a clique, by the very definition you provided.

But, there are people who, due to geography, or interests, tend to gravitate to one another's posts. No harm in that, and it hardly seems exclusionary.

There are people here that i actually PERSONALLY know. Of course, i'm going to gravitate to the posts of people i know and have spent time with. But, if you were to join into our posts, i can't imagine any of us would ignore you or reject you.

So, i don't really think the word clique applies.

when I moved to a new city to attend a big new high school and I would sit at the very end of any given cafeteria table next to groups of people that looked interesting in the hopes that they would see me in all of my fabulousness and drag me into their conversations.

i'm kinda like that erratic, circling electron that throws the whole atom into a state of disequilibrium. no self-advocacy skills whatsoever when it comes to making friends. :)
