It was a close one, too. And the evening of the vote, my sister-in-law admitted in front of her 11-year old son that she didn't vote because it wouldn't have made any difference! Right after that, the race was literally two votes apart for quite a while.

18. The only fight I ever got into was with a man in Big Lots |
|
I was there buying my daughters a few gifts for xmas a few years ago.I was in the toy department and I saw this guy staggering through toys to get to the tool department.I could smell bourbon from 10 feet away.He had his son who was about 7 years old with him.The boy wanted to stop to look at toys. The man hit the kid so hard he literally flew 5 feet into a display of barbies.I didnt even think .I picked up a ball bat. When the man went to go after the kid again I hit him in the balls with the bat and on the back of the head. My husband came running. When the man got up to come after me my husband and two other customers pulled him off me.That time my alligator mouth almost got my hummingbird arse in trouble. It still depresses me to this day about that boy. I think if the father did that to him in public what did the poor child go through at home?

26. ** I Just HAVE To Say It: This Story Sounds Like HORSE SHIT To Me ** |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 10:25 AM by arwalden
This has all the markings of one of those "true" stories with lots of drama, tears, villains... the tugging-of-heartstrings... and they almost always have a hero or a moral-message.
There may be a kernel of truth that served as the seed of the story. And the original "based on a true story" event may have even happened to the story-teller... but more than likely it's a friend-of-a-friend (x2).
The details vary from telling to telling and usually get exaggerated with each new incarnation. Many of my well-meaning (and often gullible) family and friends email stories like this to me.
Mind you, I've made no judgments of you *personally*, nor can I categorically state that this story is an exaggeration. Indeed it might very well have happened as you said.
I'm just letting you know what I think this story *sounds* like to me. Call me suspicious, but this one doesn't pass my smell test.
-- Allen
Also... as heartwrenching as it was, there were some things that caused me to have serious doubts about that story of the cat getting shot in the face. Oh well, call me suspicious.

|
After 21 yrs in law enforcement, i can't remember all the fights I've had. They got cuffed, i went home. In my book that makes me the winner.( Had to stop by the ER a couple of times on the way. ) Now there was a time when i was 9 and a young lady named Valorie decided i didn't need to walk down her street any more. After 2 fights i managed to find another way to school. That was one tough girl. She is now a painting contractor in a small west TX town, and doing very well. I still won't mess with her.

32. One of my best friends |
|
This was about ten years ago. I don't remember what the hell she had done but I was livid. I lived on a farm at the time and she came driving down and stopped in front of my house. She rolled down the window and I said, "get out of the car."
She said, "no because you're going to hit me." I said, "okay" and clocked her through the open window, opened the door, dragged her out and beat her like a red headed stepchild.
Her friend, who was with her, got out and kind of timidly tapped me on the shoulder - "uh, excuse me..." I just slapped her away and continued, pausing briefly to remove the keys from the car and throw them into the pasture so my victim could not escape.
The friend wandered off into the high grass looking for the keys, I continued to pummel my friend, and eventually, she got away and ran down the street.
We still laugh about it.

Although, it was probably more of a mutual asskicking. 10 years ago, we were teens, we had a purple-nurple, aka titty twister, aka twist the crap out of each other's nipples, wrestling match/battle. I could barely wear a t-shirt the next day, but I think he was worse off.
In an aikido belt test a few years back I threw my partner hard enough for him to have back spasms later that night. I felt bad about that, although he was amused.
Then there was the stubborn air filter cover in my Subaru's engine bay. I kicked its ass through total dissassembly, ha!
That's about it. Do these count?
