I was hoping someone would get that. :hi:
3/4 of the way through Life of Pi, and it was a slow starter, but I'm loving it now.

We should discuss when you've finished it (in the Fiction forum?), but I think I failed that book. :eyes: I liked it a lot, but...

I am looking forward to finishing it and starting Mirror Mirror by Gregory Maguire. I'm forcing myself through Life of Pi so I can get to the good stuff. :)
Meanwhile, Middlesex sits on my shelf, having been preempted in the lineup by The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and never having made it back into the linup. It sits, gathering dust, ignored...

23. We have totally hijacked this thread, by the way. |
|
But we are kicking it, which I think is nice! :)
I wouldn't say the Curious Incident is in my top 10 all-time, but I do think it's easily the best, most-developed, most REAL character study I've ever seen. The main character leaped off the page for me more than any fiction character ever has.

;-)
I agree on the character development. In fact, I'm due for a re-read of it: I wolfed it down in one afternoon without stopping, except when customers came in and when I drove home (I was manning the register at the bookstore on a slow Sunday when I started it.)
