When you say I love you to someone, does it offend/hurt you
when they say "Me too" or "I know" instead of "I love you too."?

Sometimes it bothers me, but my b/f and I have this strange way of dealing with the situation.

I always say "I love you" and he says "Ditto" That kind of has become our thing but sometimes he goes ahead and says "I love you" and it just make my day.

He just did that when I was talking to him on the phone a few minutes ago!

:)

3. While I don't feel you HAVE to say it back, it's always better if you do.
I rarely, rarely tell an SO I love them (mostly because I'm afraid they don't love me back, or because I don't want to force them into having to say it back...uh, my personal issues LOL).

But, if someone says it to me, I always feel the need to say it back, to be kind.

Unless I don't love them. In which case I'd say "I know". But luckily I haven't had to deal with that.

4. MrG absolutely hates it when I say I love you on the phone with him
while he's at work. I think he's afraid the guys'll tease him. :hi:

Shame on me...;) :hi: It's terrific to see you tonight bigwill!

But the worst thing I ever did was accidentally leave a ladies's feminine protection product in the pocket of a jacket of his I borrowed. He was at the time clock with a group of guys, and pulled it out wondering what it was....heehee. If I could have been a fly on the wall...;)

8. Sometimes its just nice to know you're loved
It doesn't need to be everyday or even every week, then you take it for granted and you just say it to say it. I think it needs to be said when you really have the feeling. I was so close to my Grandma but she was never the kind of person to say, "I love you" but I knew she did. Right before she died, I called her on their (my grandparents) 60th wedding anniversary and she said "I love you" right before we hung-up. It was the last time we talked. I can still hear her, it was finally good to hear it.

10. Say it like there is no need to respond
It feels like emotional blackmail sometimes. It feels like, I said this so YOU will say it. And what if I don't feel like saying it at the moment? I prefer to say it when I FEEL like it and I don't expect an answer.
