I just saw Santa, the Grinch, SpongeBob, Winnie the Pooh and Rudolph ..
and they were all riding together in a big red truck! Seriously!!!

No, I'm not drunk! It was my town's annual Christmas ride. Every year the firefighters take the trucks and ride up and down every street in town. The Rescue/EMS truck is first and it carries a Christmas tree and a few of those lawn sculptures with the white lights (a couple of reindeer and a snowman). The second vehicle is a big, red fire truck, with a whole bunch of characters sitting on top of it, waving to the crowd (Santa, Rudolph, the Grinch, etc.). The third truck is the Hook and Ladder. All three trucks are decorated with Christmas lights. The sirens are blasting and Christmas music is playing ... while elves run along side and pass out lollipops to everyone who comes out of the house to wave to them. (I got TWO lollipops!) We froze our asses off on the porch, but it was fun. :D

I guess O'Reilly was wrong - the "liberals" aren't trying to eliminate Christmas everywhere. ;-) Our City Hall has an elaborate holiday display that includes Christmas and Hanukkah ... and if I remember correctly, there was even something for Kwanza last year. (I haven't yet driven passed City Hall this year, so I don't know what's included this time around.)

Just thought I'd share and let people know that this town, which is OWNED by the Democrats, shows no signs of banning Christmas! :P
