Here's To All The Big Beautiful Women (BBWs) Out There
Especially my wife, the Princess.

:toast:

Many men like myself prefer full-figured women. So if you're a BBW, stand up and be counted!!!!!

8. Well I doubt it applies to all men, but if you think about it,
Women are supposed to be more curvy, I mean when a women hits puberty she gains fat, a man gains muscle.
So it makes sense if a guy is really into those skinny models who have no curves, nothing that makes them "womanly" then they might, not for sure, but might, like them because it is more like a males build. Only in the sense that it doesn't have that extra fat that a womans body is suppose to have.

I don't know, it makes sense to me anyway.

14. Here's yet another theory
My best buddy in Texas is also a man who ADORES Big Women. He said to me that he feels

"Most men look at women as life support for big tits".

And he also said

"thin women's bodies are just boring - there is so much more to look at and enjoy on a big woman."

Oh and my favorite quote of his:

"Stretch marks are the road map to exstacy"

I love him!

:loveya:

Anf i especially love the man who started this thread my hubby!:loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

But I do think that some men aren't gay and do prefer a boyish body.

106. My theory? The desire for stick thin women is about wanting
a pre-pubescent girl. Our youth obsessed cultured and the fact that many american men have not matured sexually, fuels this twisted near-pedophilia.

123. Makes Sense to Me
To my eyes, BBWs look like real women. Many of the rail-thin actresses and others you see on TV and in the media look like boys or young girls.

And maybe it's my imagination (or maybe it's because I live in an area with a large Hispanic population), but I seem to see a lot of very short young women - rail-thin and under five feet tall. Perhaps society's obsession with thinness caused them to starve themselves during their growing years and stunted their growth. Think of how tiny our Olympic gymnasts are....

23. Being Naturally Thin Is One Thing
Forcing a larger woman through societal pressure to starve herself to achieve an unattainable, unhealthy goal is another.

Some men (such as myself) prefer larger women - other prefer smaller ones. To each his (or her) own.

fat women- big women - BBW's whatever you want to call them are ALWAYS made to feel inferior to thin women and unacceptable. My darling husband chose to appreciate them and me in one lousy post. If this makes you feel badly that happens to be your problem not mine nor my husbands.

Thin women are the *IDEAL* in our society - if this thread bothers you I am sorry you feel that way - but JEEEEEEZ!

39. Let's here it for heart disease, diabetes and stroke!
Being a big person is one thing.....being "fat" is yet another. When I see someone who is obviously overweight due to a non-healthy lifestyle I find them VERY unattractive. How can you be attracted to someone who doesn't care about themselves?

As I said....being a large person is something totally different....you can be large AND healthy.

And how can ANYONE find a person like you with so much hatred for other people attractive????

Many fat people DO care about themselves. And many cannot lose weight, due to thyroid and other health problems. You shouldn't be so damn judgemental, PDX.

Now I'm very glad I kicked it.

KS, there are lots of men out there who find BBWs attractive. I used to think I was alone, but I've discovered that's not the case. If you live near a big city, see if there's a group that has dances and other social events for BBWs and their admirers. Some of these events can be fairly large, such as the "Big as Texas" weekend held every year in March.

43. You are making a BIG assumption that
#1 - they don't care about themselves

#2 - they are living a non-healthy lifestyle

Not true.

There are so many underlying causes of people being fat that it would make your head spin. Not the least of which is undiagnosed Thyroid conditions (Dr's do not take women seriously about his issue). Have you ever heard of Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome? No? Well neither have most Dr's and most of them won't take you seriously when you bring it up. My Dr's told me it was bunk. It's a serious yet little known thyroid syndrome that will cause weight serious weight gain but unless the Dr you are seeing is aware of this syndrome and takes it seriously you will never get proper treatment and weight loss will be next to impossible.

PCOS (Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome) which screws up your whole endocryn system and will make you gain weight when you eat almost nothing. I know first hand about this I have PCOS and I have had it all my life but not one single Dr cared to diagnose me properly - so I gained and gained and gainded until I was close to death a few years ago. After diagnosing myself and treating my condition with herbs -I lost a lot of weight and am mush healthier.

There are so many illnesses that go undiagnosed and cause major weight gain it's mind boggling.

Dr's are still confused by the endocrine system and how it actually works that they will tell you "Go lose weight" - when you CAN'T - but they have no other advice to give you.

And too many Dr's will just dismiss you when you are fat with "Lose weight" and never try to understand how your body is working and what is going on to make you gain weight - that way too many people get sicker and sicker and eventually die not from being fat - but from being misdiagnosed of having a condition that was probably treatable. But being fat makes a lot of Dr's automatically prejudice against treating you properly.

Look I have lived this all my life - I know how hard it is to lose weight when your body is figthing you tooth and nail. I care about myself I care about my health I cared enough to figure out what the hell was wrong with my body - BY MYSELF! With no help from any Dr. so don't tell me I don't care about my health. You have no idea what I have been through in my life.

Stop judging people and learn about why people are fat.

50. I do acknowledge that some people have underlying
reasons why they are large. One of my best friends in the world is 6'5" and weighed so mmuch that the Dr's scale couldn't weigh him. He has always been big but could always drop 70-100 lbs. just by dieting. He would eat a tub of cake frosting with a spoon....whole bags of cookies at a time, and half of a cake or pie at one sitting. These are the people I am talking about, as I said previously. When you see people downing 64 oz soft drinks and eating little chocolate donuts for breakfast it's not hard to figure out why they are overweight. There are LOTS of overweight people....not all have a medical condition that makes them that way.

70. I feel bad for your friend.
It seems he is addicted to food. I know that until I faced up to my addiction, I couldn't fight it. Unlike alcoholism, or drug-addiction there isn't much doctor help; how many people do you know that will pity an alcoholic/drug-addict, and try to help them; now how many who feel the same about a food addict who is overweight. Now change to an anorexic or bulemic. Again, less stigma (not none, just less), maybe because they are thin? Maybe, like I was, he is enough of an addict with common sense, that he fights with himself at night, finally gives in, and cries while eating. Maybe, when eating a normal meal, he can see people staring at him, accusing him for eating, even though it's a normal sized meal at a normal time. I can remember in high school (when I was a normal weight) that one of the girls in my class was hospitalized for anorexia (severe enough that organs began shutting down), and I had a conversation with my girlfriends about how we wished we had more willpower so we could look like her/be anorexic. We ADMIRED her. Get it? Our obsession with weight was so great that we wanted to develop an illness! What's wrong with our society today? Why do we let our little girls and boys develop this unhealthy obsession? Also, why do we continue to feed them processed foods/fast foods/junk foods when we know what it does to them? When it causes addictions and health problems? Yes, you can be big and beautiful and healthy (what constitutes "big" is often just normal or a little above anyway). For those of us with weight problems that are "just" a matter of overeating, it hurts. We know how to lose it, we aren't stupid; fat doesn't decrease your IQ. But just like any other addict, it's a struggle. We need support, not disgusted glares. Thanks to my support group (my mom and aunt, and an eating therapist) I've lost 50 lbs. But it still hurts to eat. I still cry when I eat a piece of candy. Even if it's a normal holiday or birthday treat. Until you live like that, you (collective you, not a personal attack you) don't get it, so try to think before glaring or making assumptions about anyone.

has a point. There are many many people in this country who are dangerously obese due to lifestyle and not genetic disorders. I believe this is all pdx_prog was trying to point out if I may be so presumtuous.

60. Certainly not. However, are you intimating that obesity stems
only from genetic predispositions or other medical conditions? Certainly that would be an untenable stance. It would be ludicrous, especially in this country where food is abundant, cheap, and often very unhealthy that lifestyle never leads to obesity.

63. No not at all
America is fat and what we eat and lack of exercise has a lot to do with it.

I was just trying to understand - how do you know who is fat because of medical conditions and who is fat because they eat too much?

Do you treat all fat people with disgust because you think they all are just lazy pigs? Or do you treat them with respect because they are human beings who are deserving of respect until they prove otherwise??

I'm just wondering.

66. I treat all human beings as human beings.
What I was trying to point out is that pdx_prog seemed to be saying that obesity is not something to be embraced whether it is a fault of lack of lifestyle-control or the result of medical conditions. I think his or her fault was in mistaking CO_Liberal's call for self-love and respect amongst larger women. That being said pdx_prog qualified his/her statement with one that seems aligned to your stance. That is all.

81. Also there is a web site you migh check out
www.soulcysters.com

They have some great links and tons of info. There is a link you can get there to a Yahoo group for PCOS patients who want to go the Herbal route.

Herbs I use:

GTF Chromium - for insuline resistance
Vanadyl Sulfate - to help your pancrease assimilate sugar easier
Milk Thistle - for a congested liver most of us have this and it contributes to hair loss
Saw Pametto - To help with levels of Dihydrotestosterone (PCOS women have high levels of this and it contributes to male pattern baldness)and facial hair.
Inositol - for hair loss
Vitamin E - for your heart
Evening Primrose oilalso for your heart and is especially effective for women.

This is all stuff I learned about from that Yahoo group and from reading.

Good luck and do check out Soul Cysters.

And the same for the other guys that responded to this thread. But we all know that the majority of men (in America) turn their nose up at full-figured woman. They want that skinny woman because they figure if they did have a ff woman, their buddies would give them a hard time. Imo, they go for the ff woman later on when they are older and finally realize that it doesn't matter what their friends think.

74. When I Was Younger....
...I tried to deny my preference for full-figured females, after all the grief I got in Sixth Grade when it became obvious I had a "thing" for one of the larger girls in my class. So through junior high and high school I went through what I now call "preference denial" - even dating thin girls, all the time wishing I had the nerve to ask out some of the larger girls.

Finally when I was 20 or so, I decided to be true to myself. I didn't care what anyone else thought - my happiness was more important. Since then I've only dated (and married) BBWs. And I'm PROUD to call The Princess my wife, and to walk with her by my side, usually holding her hand.

(Yes - after almost 12 years of marriage, we still hold hands in public.)

97. Fat is Not Always "Preventable", Cheezus
Many people are unable to lose weight, due to genetics, metabolism disorders, and illness (For example, the steroids used to treat MS can result in weight gains that are almost impossible to lose. I used to work with a woman with MS who had gained about 60 pounds that refused to leave her.)

And injuries may prevent people from being as mobile as they'd like.

All I was looking for in posting this thread was a little recognition and respect for BBWs - as people, they deserve no less. It's too bad that some people (regardless of their intention) decided to preach.

100. WOOT!
I need a miracle
Grateful Dead

I need a woman ’bout twice my age
A lady of nobility, gentility and rage
Splendor in the dark, lightning on the draw
We’ll go right through the book and break each and every law.

I got a feeling and it won’t go away, oh no
Just one thing then I’ll be ok
I need a miracle every day.

I need a woman ’bout twice my height
Statuesque, raven-dressed, a goddess of the night.
Her secret incantations, a candle burning blue
We’ll consult the spirits maybe they’ll know what to do.

And it’s real and it won’t go away, oh no
I can’t get around and I can’t run away
I need a miracle every day.

I need a woman ’bout twice my weight
A ton of fun who packs a gun with all her freight
Find her in a sideshow leave her in l.a.
Ride her like a surfer running on a tidal wave.

And it’s real, believe what I say, yeah
Just one thing I got to say
I need a miracle every day.

It takes dynamite to get me up
Too much of everything is just enough
One more thing I just got to say
I need a miracle every day,
I need a miracle every day,
I need a miracle every day, (got to be the only way)
I need a miracle

104. And Some More Lyrics For Your Consideration
FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS
Words and music by brian may

Are you gonna take me home tonight
Ah down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rockin’ world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman you made a bad boy out of me
Hey hey!

I’ve been singing with my band
Across the wire across the land
I seen ev’ry blue eyed floozy on the way
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time

Oh won’t you take me home tonight?
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round

Hey listen here
Now your mortgages and homes
I got stiffness in the bones
Ain’t no beauty queens in this locality (I tell you)
Oh but I still get my pleasure
Still got my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me
Now get this

Oh you gonna take me home tonight (please)
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round
Get on your bikes and ride

Oooh yeah them fat bottomed girls
Fat bottomed girls
Yeah yeah yeah
Fat bottomed girls
Yes yes

118. Why is that?
Can't someone love the way a woman's body looks and love who she is too??

It takes a years and a lot of experince to understand that men are visual creatures and they need to be attracted to the woman physiclly first and then they can see if they can love her for who she is.

It's not bad nor is it wrong - it's just the way it is.

And I thank the Goddess every day I am married to a man who is turned on by the sight of my body. It helps me to remember that I am a beautiful desireable woman in a world that tells me I am *unacceptable*.

119. Wow, it's not like I've never met a man before in my entire life!
I do realize men are visual creatures. Not a hard concept to understand, especially if you've been in a relationship with one before. I just don't think we should be singling out a group of women on this board when ALL the women here are beautiful. Sorry princess, there were comments on this thread (especially the thin women and the homosexuality comment) that really didn't help the original intent of this thread. Your husband's intentions were fine, but then the thread turned sour, IMHO. Instead being denounced, these negative comments against thin women were embraced. So that's why this thread upset me, and I hope that you can understand that.

But thanks for pointing out what was bothering you - I didn't understand why you were upset until now. And to an extent I agree.

No one group should be demeaned to make another feel good. That was not the point at all and I hope you understand that.

124. It Hurts Me To See Them, Too
This is supposed to be a site for progressives - nothing progressive about fat phobia. And I don't see how my celebrating one group of women automatically puts down all other women.

Best of luck on the medical side. As I've learned from The Princess, most doctors don't know shit about treating large people. Even someone moderately large like me (5'11" and 230 lbs) is subjected to hit-and-miss medical treatment. ("Let's try this - if that doesn't work, we'll try that....")

And welcome to DU!!! :hi:
