Is the blue a little too off? (80k graphic)

Looks much better as a full size background, mind you... no enhanced sharpness and more real detail... :9

2. You tell me.
O8)

But please be gentle, I have a thin skin and am a Taurus. :D

Just kidding! :7 Dues the blue clash with the background? I'm really looking for something that's bold without being crass.

5. It depends on the effect you are after
it is an interesting contrast between the rich red and pale blue and pale yellow, and creates a certain amount of tension as the colors are not in balance. If this is what you were after, then you nailed it.

If you wanted more balance, a deeper hue on the blue and even a bit more golden tone on the yellow might achieve that effect.

didn't you? I like the first better, the blue was, uh, more flowing, if that makes sense. I like the blue much better than the red too.

7. I kept the first one intact... the goal of this one was the progression
of the light spheres. Especially as they descend into the image. However, they do seem to blend in more than I'd have liked...

I did want the background to be contrasting.

The red/orange was intentional, but I can see how making the yellow a bit more bold would help.

The periwinkle is okay too, but I could alter the hue a bit...

The original was definitely meant to have a flowing feel to it.

6. It hits against the red pretty hard, but the yellow blends it.
I like it that way.
