Another superhero flick: The Flash
http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&obj_id=43185

After completing the latest adventure in the BLADE series of films, writer/director David S. Goyer has inked a deal that will see him write, direct and produce a feature film based on DC Comics scarlet speedster, THE FLASH, for Warner Bros.

The news was announced today in the pages of Variety but it was first scooped by Ain't It Cool News last month where a scooper said Goyer was in "the very early stages" of talks. Apparently those talks have been signed, sealed and delivered.

"FLASH is my favorite of the properties," Goyer said to Variety. "I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas."

I'm a sucker for superhero stories and The Flash was always one of my favorites growing up so I'm glad to see him make the jump to the big screen.

1. Meanwhile, all original ideas aren't being produced.
Money money money, that's all Hollywood's about today.

Is there ANY comic we haven't seen in film?

There's loads more books to adapt, anyway.

:grr:

2. I'd pay to see an R. Crumb Movie...
Although Bakashi pissed off Crumb with his rendition of Fritz the Cat so much that he ended up killing off Fritz.

4. With digital animation now, it would be doable....

...I don't know why it hasn't been tried, yet. But which Green Lantern would we use?

Alan Scott?

Hal Jordan?

John Stewart?

Guy Gardner?

Kyle Rayner?

Casting possibilities (comic book geek alert):

Alan Scott: Sting

Hal Jordan: Nicholas Cage

John Stewart: Laurence Fishburne

Guy Gardner: Seann William Scott

Kyle Rayner: Ethan Hawke
