Poll question: How do you like your egg nog?
Is this a copycat of my own poll? You decide.

A Mexican hard eggnog with enough alcohol to be classified as hard liquor.

4. It's basic eggnog, with ground almonds added, for texture.
That, and enough 150-proof rum to keep ya stiff until the Epiphany.

:P

10. Here is the recipe
Rompope is the Mexican version of egg nog and is traditionally spiked with Rum. According to Karen Hursh Graber the drink started at the Convent of Santa Clara in Puebla, Mexico back in the colonial period. Today Rompope is produced commercially and widely available in Mexico and the U.S. As always the best product is the one you make at home.

I N G R E D I E N T S
4 cups milk
1 cup sugar
3 inches canela (cinnamon bark)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
12 egg yolks
1/2 cup brandy

Although you can also buy it ready made.

13. No alcohol
That's when I had some once a year. Then the corporate recipe turned it into sugar milk. So I haven't had any in couple years.
