It just boggles my kind, some times. This dude was just arrested for soliciting a prostitute, and the cop asked him why he did it. His answer: "I don't know".

Oh, PUH-leeze!

So why lie, and insult the officer's intelligence?

:P

5. For the same reason.....
.......I never had a client who copped to doing the deed.

Didn't you know? The prisons are filled with unfairly convicted righteous individuals who were set up by (insert majority group of choice here).

Why, it could turn an OldLeftieLawyer a little bit cynical, but, whew, that didn't happen...........

9. Was it a good thing that I was a cop before I went to law school?
I've asked myself that question frequently.

22. Yeah, I think it was a very good thing for you
It just enhanced the necessary cynicism we all had to pick up in law school. You got there already well-equipped, I suspect.

:donut:

(Sorry - couldn't resist the donut)

I had been a social worker. I had my credentials, too.

Remember the old joke about the lawyer driving through the country with his (non-lawyer) friend?

The non-lawyer says, "Hey, look at all those brown cows over there!"

The lawyer answers, "Well, they're brown on this side, anyway."

8. Because people busted by the cops never tell the truth
Just like no one who is in prison actually did the crime they are in prison for (just ask them. They'll tell you).

Realistically, they don't because to do so would be admitting to a crime and if they do that, they lose the chance of possibly being acquitted on a technicality or something. So they just go into the denial phase and stick right to it.

Besides, anyone who signs a waiver to allow their arrest to appear on television has got to be some kind of a moran anyway.

17. How about running from the cops in your car?
This week I saw one where the guys were trying to run in a full sized van - and yes, they rolled it.

Half the time the people are only driving on a suspended liscense or something dumb like that.

face it, your escort or camry can't outrun the cops and your camerro doesn't handle as well as a crown vic.

19. Try outrunning a radio.
Some of these people are 'dead from the neck up', as Archie Bunker was fond of saying.

20. Forget Cops, it's all about Sheriff John Bunnell and Real Police Chases.
Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 08:18 PM by pinniped

The helicopter reporter always has the same voice no matter where the chase is. LA, Europe, anywhere.

The helicopter also has a microphone so good it can pick up tire screeches from 1000 feet.

Anyone watch LAPD: Life on the Beat? That's my favorite police show but Real Stories of the Highway Patrol was cool too.

I forgot which cop show I was watching but the dudette didn't want to come out of the car because he was dressed like a woman.

21. My favorite police show was always "America's Dumbest Criminals"
Well, at least it was back when it was just a cheap-looking set with Daniel Butler in a cheap suit and birth-control glasses next to Beaumont Bacon in bad wardrobing and worse styling ridiculing dumbasses who break the law.

Then they got all Hollywood, with a live audience, a cute sidekick for Daniel and Real Production Values. It went straight downhill after that.
