What is the nickname of the first decade of the 21st century?

I remember there was all this speculation of what we would call the decade following the nineties when the year 2000 was approaching. Some of the suggestions were "the double 0's" and "the aughts". Now the decade is half way finished and I don't here anybody calling it anything, maybe everyone is still stunned by the fact that we have crossed over the year 2000. I have to admit that recently I wrote a check and on the date I started putting 19__, crazy. Oh well, I guess we will have to wait for VH-1 to guide us in the right direction, oh how I loathe that station.
