10. I don't know much about Phil Ochs, but apparently he started wearing a

gold lamé jacket on stage and interspersing rock 'n' roll songs with his folk stuff as part of his personal vision of Elvis as Ché. He was actually serious, and it supposedly went over with many of his audiences about as well as the electric guitar did to Bob Dylan's in the '60s (the Bobster himself saying that all he wanted to be was Elvis, not to be seen and revered as some heavy poet type).

At least some country stars are on the side of the righteous...Tim McGraw seems a decent dude, on top of it all. Don't know how he'd look in a beret, though.
