Poll question: How do you like your chocolate chip cookies?
I like to experiment with cookies. What kind of goodies should I put in besides chcoclate chips?

19. Thats the only way
with a glass of milk and they HAVE to be warm. Adding anything else just takes from the taste of the cookie.

7. Try using toffee bits instead of nuts...
about a half cup added to the recipe. Very yummy. What also works well is white chocolate chips and craisins.

8. Try oatmeal...
raisin and/or cranberry, almond and/or macadamia chocolate chip cookies. Adding some peanut butter's OK, too, but not if you want to taste the macadamias.

Instead of buying the bags of little chips, try breaking up some really good chocolate bars and throwing them in.

My secret ingredient - it's amazing!
Oh yeah, I add 1 c. oatmeal, too. and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.

But to the original question: How do you like your cookies?

18. Consistent to me means keep it chocolate. A chocolate cookie with
chocolate chips. Nothing else will do.

The worst thing anyone could do to a chocolate chip cookie is to give it a peanut flavor. Peanut butter, by the way, makes me :puke:

These are so darn good, even my hubby who hates sweets is addicted to them!


In large bowl, mix:

3/4 cup butter
4 teaspoons water
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar

Mix in:

2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

In medium bowl, mix:

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

blend into sugar mixture

Mix in:

1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats

Fold in:

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened flake coconut
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Heat oven to 350. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11 to 12 minutes.
