2. Was that a hit when it came out? I love it. Elf is good too.
Saw Elf today for the first time, LOVE IT!

But Scrooged, I try to catch it every year.

Put a little love in your heart....and the world will be a better place, and the world, will be a better place..for you....and me....just wait...and seeeeeeeeeee.... gets me a bit choked up every time.

3. What's with all your threads lately calling anyone with a different
opinion than yours about some pop-culture reference "losers"? Just curious. Do you do that kind of thing regularly in your daily life and find it works well for you, or is it just a "when you're posting on DU" thing?

7. I really like "Scrooged" too, but I don't like the smarmy ending. However,
I don't know what I'd put in its place.

11. Agreed. The ending is a huge letdown. Parts of it are very
good...and then that crapola ending sinks it.

9. Aw come on....even Michael O'Donoghue denounced what
what Richard Donner did with his script. As a big O'Donoghue fan, I must say that "Scrooged" feels like a compromise. the Michael O'Donoghue biography, "Mr. mike," contains a few choice words from its creator about the travesty that was the final product.

Plus, David Johansen was great as a New York Doll, but as an actor, he just doesn't cut it.

There'a handful of rich dialogue, and I'll pay money to see Bill Murray in ANYTHING, but "Scrooged" was, and always will be a let-down for me personally. Michael O'Donoghue deserved a better swan song.

10. A Christmas Story is the best
Unless you count "It's a Wonderful Life". But Scrooged? No. Totally unfunny.:boring:
