3. Colder than a mother in law's kiss here.
I was out earlier today and made the mistake of wearing polar fleece rather than the down parka. I paid for that mistake. I just about froze my nubbins off...

6. Tee hee. Do you know where that expression comes from?
When Napoleon led his army on Russia, his ships carried their cannon balls in brass racks called "monkeys." During the winter, it got so cold that the monkeys cracked and the balls rolled everywhere, hence "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey." Or so I've heard.

7. Yeah, it's really cold here in Chicago today.
Kudos to all those Bear fans that sat through that horrible exhibition in Soldier Field today. God love em, I love the Bears but thank God I was sitting at home wrapped up in an blanket.

It supposed to warm up to about 30 tomorrow with some light snow, but the bottom is supposed to drop out again on Wednesday. Looks like is going to be a cold Christmas in Chitown.

21. Not to bad in No Texas this morning, went to church without a
coat, just a lightweight skirt and blouse (long sleeves), but it has gradually gotten cooler all day. We are supposed to get down to freezing Wednesday in Ft Worth though.
