What do you REALLY want for Christmas?
Be honest now. What one thing that can be bought do you want this year?

6. Uhh . . . a mustang?
Well, it is YOUR present after all . . . though I must respectfully disagree with your choice of cars.

12. That's true, but I've had a strong dislike of ford since the late 80's
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 07:21 PM by da_chimperor
It's a long story, but suffice to say I really don't like them other than the classic ford cars. I'm not advocating picking an über expensive car or anything, or a hybrid. If we're talking practical cars, I'd go for a Subaru WRX STi myself. It corners much better and has the same horse power. :) It's also 35 grand . . . :(

26. the new ones, the 05's
you can get fully loaded for like 30 grand, but if you shell out another 10 grand you can get a shelby cobra, the new ones have 610 Horsepower, but no raido, or roof, not even a convertable one, but really any car is good enough for road handleing, its not like i'm ever gonna get it to 150mph

and I just saw your post this a.m., sorry!

He will ship out January 18th. He will begin training with his unit here Dec. 28th until time to ship. Not the best present we could have hoped for.

Thanks for the hugs, and please keep us in your thoughts. My almost-three-year-old will not take this well.

Dental work. I broke a back molar today, and I have two teeth that will be needing crowns soon. Dental work is expensive. If I could have any material thing I wanted, it would be the work I need done.

And a little cosmetic whitening thrown in too....

29. The gorgeous dark brown Italian leather sofa and loveseat I just
saw at Costco.

Style, quality, and Bluebuying all in one neat package. I am lusting majorly--and at age 61, it would be my first real sofa, ever.

I mean, I owned (with my then-husband) a secondhand sofa in the late sixties, and currently spend way too much time on a handsome and v. comfortable secondhand white canvas-upholstered loveseat, but damn, you know?

50. My own forklift
My life would be so much easier if I had my own forklift when I needed it. We have five lift trucks--a 7000-lb Toyota, a 4000-lb Toyota, a 4500-lb Raymond crab-steer reach and two Raymond 3500-lb conventional reaches.

This is the forklift I want...

And I want it with the pivoting pallet head that would allow me to unload a whole lumber truck without moving the machine.

Man, with this thing I wouldn't have to put pallet jacks into trailers so the driver could move the freight to the back for grabbing--I could just reach into the trailer and get the merchandise. I wouldn't have to move the rack of 2x4s from in front of the backstock before getting a bundle down for someone, I could just reach up and grab it. And I wouldn't have to put skids of shingles into people's trucks then push them into place, I could extend them out to wherever I wanted to put them then set them down gently.

And let's not forget the opportunities for additional income this machine would offer. I could go out on my time off and lift skids of drywall into second-floor spaces for contractors. It would bring me lots of beer money.

Dear Santa: I hate to sound like a Grinch, but you probably spend $100 per middle-class kid anymore. Well, there are at least 1200 freepers who have one child each. If you were to screw every one of 'em on grounds that their dads are freepers who don't believe in handouts, you could bring me one of these.
