HELP!!!!!!!!!...(Computer Question) |
|
I'm not real great on the ole' puter. I recently got a new computer, a HP Pavillion mx703. I also have the Norton anti virus setup. Since I got the new combo, it will not let me post up on certain message boards. Is there something I can tweak to rectify this problem????

1. are you getting an error message? |
|
what is the exact thing that is happening?
it just freezes in the middle of a post?
Have you tried a different browser? I recommend FIREFOX if you don't already have it. Give it a shot.

And still, I get "Posting Error" "See Administrator.
Could it be the cookies, or the firewall thing?

the firewall isn't blocking anything from that site...It looks like you might have been banned, on purpose or accident...Try navigating through the site map and send some emails to the administrator/web master and see if he has any ideas. Also, click "tools" on the top of your browser, and make sure your browser is set to allow cookies. If you have the security set too high in IE, it could be preventing it.
In firefox, click the privacy tab under tools and make sure cookies are enabled. If your browser does accept them and you still aren't able to post, the problem is on the website itself, not your computer.

I have Norton Anti-virus and rarely get popups, but every day this searchforit website takes over as my homepage. How can I stop that?

go to download.com
type Ad-Aware
Download it..
Type Spybot Search and Destroy
Download it.
UPDATE both programs, then run full scans to kill the spyware on your system.
