:wtf: is up with Bostonians that 2" of snow paralyzes them? We should be used to it! It is coming down pretty heavily right now, but nothing a rear window defogger and windshield wipers can't handle.

On the other hand, it is BRUTALLY cold-13 degrees with terrible wind gusts. And my office is freezing! :scared: I may just have to leave early! :D

1. Hehehe, aren't Boston drivers great? :)
Last year, during that first big ice storm, it took me 3 1/2 hours to drive from Somerville to Bedford (normally takes around 20 minutes) :).

2. it's nasty out
i work at a wendy's in pa, night shift, and last night the interstate right by us was backed up for like 4 or 5 hours, and every single person came to wendy's. and the wind chill was -3, and i was on back register, and for about an hour it was nonstop cars through drive thru, the line wrapped around the building, and after it was over, my hands were so numb i couldn't even move them anymore.

4. Western Mass is an icy nightmare.
The roads will be just fine and then-wham!-you're fishtailing all over the place. Cars going 10 miles an hour sliding into ditches. Other people thinking they're Superman in 4WD until they start fishtailing all over. 7 degrees and not expected to climb much.

Tell me again why I left Denver to come home for the holidays? My boyfriend is walking around Colorado Springs in a t-shirt. x(

5. Not for long, ITF... wind gusts 60-70 mph.
There's a front moving in. Up here in Boulder County, the wind is picking up ROCKS. Not dust or dirt, rocks.

Hope you get back safe!

13. It's one of those obnoxiously windy days that nobody except
a Coloradan would know about.

Wind like this on the east coast would keep the cable news channels chattering for days...

Deck furniture, trash, trash cans, etc. flying around. Earlier, a large part of Boulder lost power. Some fences blown down, etc.

I lived in the Northeast for a couple of years about ten years ago, and I know what it's like to drive in Boston (and western Mass) in bad weather. I remember once spinning out pretty badly on the Mass Turnpike at night. I don't envy you. ;-)

9. Everyone knows most Bostonians don't even
know how to drive in good weather. Why should they be expected to know how to drive in bad weather?

If the wind gusts are bad, people will most liekly drive slower too maintain better control of their car. Also, a lot of people probably have defrosters that don't work so well.

11. I'm home-it was brutal out
the problem with this state is they don't plow the damn roads. At least I made it home before school let out-it would have probably taken over an hour to go 3 miles!
