27. Does he say it in a
"the fact that Bush is president makes me feel like a man" kind of way? Or is it more of a "you're not going to be much fun for the next four years, are you" kind of way?

3. I would say no.
You shouldn't let the political situation ruin your marriage. IMO.

Vent your anger here. That's what I do.

However, if he starts hanging pictures of Bush around the house, that would qualify.

He's just going to lie back and let the Rethugs remake our country into a nice 1870 version without the good parts? Bah.

have you uncurled yourself from the fetal position yet? If not, perhaps he has a point.

But if you're fully functional, aside from the raging fury, tell him to pack sand.

22. well then
I'd say as long as your inability to "get over it" isn't negatively impacting your ability to have a normal life, you don't need to change anything. Might want to talk to him about what he means though. Explain to him why it's not nearly as easy as just waking up one morning and saying, "You know what? From now on I am going to be ok with * being President." Besides, "getting over it" is exactly what * wants us to do. If we're not good and pissed off, nobody would be watching him.

we are having a stressed out patch around here, and that is the one thing that is neither his fault, nor his job to change. so that must be the root of the problem. you know, guy think.

19. Depends on where you live.
Georgia has "mental cruelty" listed as one of thirteen legitimate grounds for divorce. That certainly sounds like mental cruelty to me. At least, under certain circumstances, it could be.

20. No, I'm getting the same thing
from my SO. He won't let me yell "you lying sack of sh#t!!!" anymore at the TV whenever Chimpy appears.

But at least he'll still watch McLaughlin Report with me and argue back at Fat Tony. And he does let me yell at Rummy.

21. No, not grounds for divorce.
But I'm not "over it" either -- can't you just tell him, nicely, not to say that to you, and you'll get "over it" in your own sweet time?

This is why ALL of my friends are political junkies and democratic activists. Thank heaven, the family gets it too.

23. I still haven't gotten over Dukakis losing!
I just missed voting for Mondale in '84 by a month, so it was my first presidential election and I was so into Dukakis and am still distraught that he let an 18 point lead in the polls slip away.
