A local paper's take on the Monster Thickburger....
http://www.wisinfo.com/journal/spjopinion/282170889695354.shtml

to etiquette They call it the Monster Thickburger. The newly crowned heavyweight champion of the fast food world weighs in at 1,420 calories, 230 milligrams of cholesterol and 2,661 milligrams of sodium.

(snip)

That's what the Monster Thickburger does. It exceeds not just expectations, but some would say surpasses good sense.

Just for grins, here's another meal that equals about 1,420 calories: an ounce of black caviar (70 calories) and a 4-ounce glass of cabernet sauvignon (90 calories) for an appetizer, an eight-ounce T-bone steak (220 calories) with lettuce salad (15 calories) with blue cheese dressing (160 calories), baked potato (110 calories), sour cream (25 calories) and a 12-ounce glass of draft Guinness beer (190 calories) for the main course, followed by a 14-ounce cappuccino (110 calories) and a slice of Dutch apple pie (220 calories) with rich vanilla ice cream (180 calories) to finish.
That's about 1,400 calories.
Or skip dessert, drink nearly three more glasses of Guinness or five glasses of vino as you and your companion contemplate the meaning of life, get ... yawn! ... very sleepy and toddle off to bed.

(snip)

But if you're going to ingest 1,420 calories, don't you at least want a side order of conversation to go along with it? Candlelight? Table linen and silver? An obsequious waiter?
And think of the contrast of flavors and textures in our make-believe meal above. Caviar. Ice cream. T-bone. Veggies. Sour cream. Cabernet sauvignon. Blue cheese. Guinness. Dutch apple pie. Cappuccino. Potato.
