The remake of Dawn of the Dead SUX!!! |
|
How utterly disappointing, its like what happened to all the stupid people at some other mall.
Never watch it, it is a waste of time.
The original is one of the smartest and best horror movies ever, it is the best zombie movie hands downs.
I hate the remake, and I was trying to go in with an open mind, but damn did that suck.
Glad I have the original on DVD, avoid the new one like the plague, if you have to have fast zombies, get 28 Days Later.

2. Oh, I feel exactly the opposite |
|
I thoroughly enjoyed Dawn of the Dead - watched it twice in one week I had so much fun with it. 28 Days Later I thought was horrible.
Oh, well - just goes to show you that we don't all like the same things. World would be pretty boring if we did.

4. many people thought "28 days later" was horrible |
|
I liked it. I heard mostly good stuff about the Dawn of the Dead remake. I DIDNT like "Shaun of the Dead" (I know, it was a spoof) and everybody I talked to loved it and it even got outstanding reviews! with me its my mood at the time I watch something. Sometimes if I rewatch I end up liking it.

You have to see them all. Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and (even though it really isn't a horror flick) Army of Darkness.

3. I liked it. Blood and gore everywhere. |
|
Some of us have only the simplest of demands. :)
BTW if you haven't, try to watch Peter Jackson's debut "Bad Taste". Gory and funny as HELL.

8. Haven't seen either one, but I'll stick this movie thought here. |
|
I'm about 2/3 of the way through "Vanhelsing" on DVD and thinking it's just about the worst excuse for a monster movie. Definite identity crisis going on.

whatever they were. I saw the movie in the theater last summer and had a buzz so my memory of it is vague...

14. I'm getting the distinct impression it's a big screen movie. |
|
Doesn't translate well on my television. I'm guessing the same with The Bourne Supremacy which disappointed me this weekend.

9. I felt like you did after the first time I saw it |
|
But then I saw it again and I realized that I was always comparing it to the original when it really was completely different. I actually like it a lot now. But the original is still way better.

but I never saw the original. There was some sort of irony about them walking into a mall after zombies are running loose in the streets killing people with the melody to "Don't worry be happy" playing in the background. Also liked the lounge version of Disturb's Down with the Sickness, funny stuff. I need to see more zombie movies though, I think it was Day of the Dead that was the most violent movie I've ever seen (the one in the underground missle silo or bunker or whatever it was).

13. Dead Alive is the best zombie film ever! |
|
Directed by Peter Jackson, totally over the top with blood & guts, humor, household appliances gone berzerk & with new zealand accents to boot.
I agree the remake of Dawn of the Dead wasn't as good as the original; the motorcycle gang scene was sorely missing.
