2. I wondered why it wasn't a photograph.

He looks so ugly in all photographs. I suspect that is why this is artwork rather than a photograph.

I hadn't caught the powdered wig aspect, but did notice how white the hair was. Also, note how smooth the skin is compared to the real "thing".

Also, maybe this was the only way to suppress the omnipresent smirk.
