6. '60s-'70s?
I'd say by that definition, the Beatles by far, with Rolling Stones a close second. If we cut out the work each band did in the '60s, then Led Zep becomes my first choice.

25. This is 70's music...
Punk and, yes, the many definitions within New Wave were 70's music. As a matter of fact, so was Disco.

My favorite 60's music was from groups like The Sonics....maybe, that is why I grabbed onto Punk with a passion in the 70's.

Saw the Damned in the 80's at a beautiful outdoor venue. The show was mystical and magical and included many of their 70's songs.

9. If you ever attended an early Dead concert
Like at the Avalon for $3.00, you would not even ask this question. Saw Hendrix from the third row. Saw the stones from the eighth row the first time they ever played S.F. The dead were better.

30. Hands down no contest
None of the other bands would exist without the Beatles to start off the whole bands playing their own instruments and writing their own songs.

34. without a doubt the Grateful Dead
other notables would be Zepplin and Floyd, The Who

-all of these were essential in the influence of future music, the problem is that Big Record Co.'s thought they could create the next Floyd or Zepplin or the Dead. And screwed up the industry for decades.
