I think I created a bird problem........
trying to make sure my friendly neighborhood bird have something to eat, I've been tossing out my old bread. Yesterday I threw out some harden English muffins in the snow. I looked out this morning and found I had a crow invasion in my backyard. The trees were lined with these buggers. They came, they feasted, and then left not even a crumb for the little guys. I've have a few old slices of bread that I've not tossed yet, figuring the invasion will return. Boy are they sneaky, not one bit of noise.

2. Animals. And you'd think humans would be any better, as we are wont to
proclaim ourselves to be. :-(

3. We have 'welfare birds'
We have 3 feeders and a cage thingy to put ears of corn in for the squirrels. Adhering strictly to Democratic teachings, we don't force our birds and squirrels to 'work' during cold weather, and encourage them to be shiftless slackers.

;)

4. Get one of those "finch style" bird feeders
and fill it with seed, which is better as it is more nutritious for birds. The small birds can land on the little shelf and scatter seed down to the ground for the larger birds.

12. My cat would agree.
He had one brief and nearly-disastrous experience when he tried to have a 'crow lunch'.

8. NO BREAD FOR BIRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to shout. Birds should never be given bread ESPECIALLY IN WINTER. Bread is a woefully incomplete food for birds, but that isn't the problem. It is slow to digest, and birds need plenty of fast digesting food to maintain their metabolism. Birds will literally starve to death by eating bread.

10. put out a feeder for the little guys, Bread is not good for birds!
the crows are too large for feeders, suet is good, woodpeckers love it.

2 days ago my wife was in the bedroom and heard something hit the roof.
We looked outside and saw 2 Ravens (larger than crows) each with a fresh looking glazed donut in their beeks. About 100 yards away contractors are building a new house, I later told them the story and they filled in the rest, These 2 Ravens landed on the hood of their truck where a closed box of the sweet donuts were, forced open the box and selected the only glazed donuts and promptly flew to our house and had their breakfeast. Too funny.

Another day we were thawing 3 pork chops on a plate covered with plastic wrap went outside and we had only 2 chops. A few minuets prior there was a crow hanging around the deck. Crows and their cousins Raven are very smart and funny.

Be glad you dont have a vulture problem, they are truly nasty in spirit and function.

Good Luck
