Tipping this time of year |
|
The person who delivers the newspaper each morning inserts a "season's greetings" card with the name and address, so we mail a thank you check.
Now I find a similar note in our recycle bin. Should I do the same? Last year I asked a neighbor who has lived here for many years and she said no... but am not sure.
Your opinion, please?
Thanks

1. Who handles your recycling? |

If it's a city service, workers generally aren't allowed to receive tips/gifts.
If you pay a private contractor, than maybe. I don't know -- I've always had city pickup.

I tip the same - to the same occupations - during this season as all through the year ... no room for opportunists. That is, unless I get extra or better service this time around. ...O...

3. On behalf of your newspaper carrier, thank you! |

They work VERY hard for VERY LITTLE money, and your tip might well make the difference between a merry Christmas for him/her, and no Christmas at all!
