Charlie and the Chocalate Factory (Movie Trailer)...
looks more dark than the seventies version. Perhaps it is more true to the book. Personally, I can't wait to see it.

1. Has Hollywood lost its creativity?
What's with all the remakes?

I was waiting for the Great Glass Elevator to come out first, before a remake of the Wonka

6. Bingo.
I was horrified by the idea of remaking "Wonka" - especially during the 90s when the idea of casting Michael Jackson as Wonka was floated (and quickly euthanized).

But when I heard that Burton was directing Depp in it, I said (in my best Dude Lebowski voice), "that's f***ing interesting, man."

I can't wait.

3. i didn't think it looked all that dark at all
frankly, i was a bit disappointed...i was hoping to see a really dark version, but this looks as goofy, if not more than the original, and they made johnny depp look like a girl.

7. You're not the only one, apparently.
For what it's worth, this is from the IMDB's trivia page on the film:

"Screenwriter John August had never even seen Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) when asked by Tim Burton to write the script. After finishing the screenplay, he finally watched the 1971 version, only to be surprised at how much darker the "family film" was to his own."

4. It's another adaptation..
instead of a remake of the first movie.

I cannot wait, though. I've watched the trailer a hundred times, to the point were I get that peppy little song in my head. Willy Wonka! Willy Wonka! The amazing chocolatier!

At this point, I would watch a movie called "Johnny Depp Stands in Line at the DMV", though.

8. Brief jungle scene
Could the film include scenes from LoompaLand? Is that a Vermicious Knid (sp?) diving for Willy Wonka's head? Why must I wait months for these vital questions to be answered?
