Pop up Monsters have taken over my computer. I can no longer read my emails from my yahoo mail box....cause the pop up Monsters keep taking me for a ride as soon as I log on. My screen is being taken to place it doesn't want to go.
Does anyone have a good "reliable" pop up blocking program that actually works and is "free"? I am running on Window XP. If so, I would be so ever grateful if you could provide a link.
Thank you all in advance.....
Merci, et Joyeux Noel et Chanukkah!

Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy. They will get pretty much all the malware on your computer. I also recommend Mozilla Firefox (also free) as your browser instead of using Internet Explorer. Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

3. Also once you've downloaded and installed them |
|
You might run both after re-booting into Safe Mode. I've done that and found that it greatly increased the number of problems found.

4. Download Windows XP Service Pack 2 |
|
And enable the popup blocker (Tools - Popup Blocker - Turn On Popup Blocker). If you get popups whether you're surfing the net or not, I recommend downloading Ad-Aware and updating it. Boot your pc in Safe Mode (if you know how)and run Ad-Aware. 5. I use "POW" and cookiewall |
|
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network.htmEverything here is freeware. Scroll down to "Browser Add-ons". POW is a pop-up blocker. I also reccomend cookiewall for managing unwanted cookies.
