Autocad experts - how do I access my drawing objects in a database? |
|
I'm working with Autocad 2000, and have a drawing that I would like to export the object attributes (type, from x-y, to x-y, etc) to a database that I can then manipulate.
I know that Autocad has this database capabilities, but can't seem to find under Help how to do this directly.

1. There are a lot of ways to do this depending on the type of object... |
|
from if its simple blocks your trying to get the x,y insertion points of to complex entities you need detailed x,y,z info on; a little to complex to go into all the variants, different programming hooks, etc. here...I would suggest going to the free ADSK discussion groups run by Autodesk for more info...lots of great guys there to help out (its where I always go when I'm stuck)....
Newsgroup server for your newsreader:
discussion.autodesk.com
There are a bunch: I would first try out the customization or customization.vba newsgroups. If you know vba you can access the whole dwg database through vlax objects within the AutoCAD VBA editor. There is generally good help available there also...
