Am I the only one a little disappointed on Christmas morning |
|
that there is no stocking or presents from Santa? After 48 Christmases, you'd think I'd get used to it, but that anticipation (and greed?) is so ingrained. I never outgrew my need for a little magic, I guess. That's what I like about Christmas the most--what I like to call "all that inner child crap".

1. Aw. If I were near you, i'd make sure you got a "santa gift' |
|
My husband and I, every year, miraciously get gifts from Santa under the tree, and we always have a stocking full of goodies, although the "traditional apples, tangerine, and pears" in the stocking (as used to be in my youth) have gone away and been replaced with a 22 of beer, a pack of cigarettes, and rolling papers or a water pipe :)
See, there ARE benefits of being a grown-up :)
Hope you have a merry christmas anyways :)

I'm 26 and I still get presents from Santa. Maybe you've been bad?
Mom refuses to tell me that Santa isn't real. She maintains that he visits her a few days before Christmas (so he'll be less busy on Christmas Eve), and gets me something. I think it's pretty ironic that they both use the same wrapping paper. Mom says that's because she has such good taste! It does make it more fun to come home and see that From: Santa gift tag. Makes me feel six again! :bounce:

5. That's what I'm talking about |

I love that! We don't have to grow up in EVERY way if you ask me. (I make up for Santa's negligence by buying LOTS of stuff for myself!)

7. I know the feeling exactly! |

I fill up my daughter's stocking with little things and i always put things in my husbands, usually scratch tickets and some candy and there is never anything in mine-ever.

8. You'd think it'd happen just once, wouldn't you |
|
when you least expect it, if we lived in a novel, just to restore our faith in childhood and dreams and Christmas and magic, not to mention husbands who are trainable.

10. I know how it is--I got very good at "Look what you bought me!!! |
|
What good taste you have!! You must really, really love me!!" Some of them just can't take a hint.

The best part of Christmas is seeing the little kids in my family get all excited about the big surprise. It's just not that fun anymore for the grownups. :P

6. My family's at an awkward stage |
|
where my nieces and nephews are grown but not yet having kids so there aren't little kids around. They really make the season.
