"Scratcher" playing morons. Do you encounter these types? |
|
Usually freepish looking sots who at convinience/liquor stores, hover over the glass counter top where the lottery scratcher tickets are sold and take several minutes deciding which of the many tickets to buy. After purchasing them they mumble senseless small talk to the clerk, who could give a shit, while scratching ALL their tickets quickly, then realizing they've won a couple more free tickets, then taking another several minutes deciding what others they'll try to find their road to riches, making others in line wait even longer. Damn these assholes bug me!

1. Yes. They are the cousins of the grocery line folks who suddenly |
|
realize that they are going to have to PAY for their groceries after the ring up and spend 15 minutes getting out their checkbook looking for their license writing the check wrong rewriting the check changing their mind about the amount wanting the money in some strange number of bills and coins making the same mumbling smalltalk through the whole process.

3. Or those that bring several items to the counter and only have |
|
enough money to pay for half of them and then try to negotiate a deal.

Another way to extract as much money from the poor as possible. How many wealthy people play the lottery? Very few. It is played by folks who could better use the money on food, housing, children, etc. Also, state sales tax revenues are impacted by the lottery tax because money is diverted away from purchasing goods and services.

The Lottery - not only is it a tax on the poor, it's a tax on the perpetually mindblowingly stupid ignorant shitwads.

Lottery revenues are used to fund services for senior citizens here.

It's still a business.
And most of all, it's still a tax on the poor. (and, as I said, the terminally ignorant)
There are way better ways of raising revenue, but lotteries are handy because they are a way to get the poor to pay more in taxes while thinking that it is to their benefit.

8. I used to work at Stop-N-Go- and they irritated me to no end. |
|
In fact, the Pennsylvania Lottery soured me on the whole gambling thing.
