Dude, I got a Dell! (Please humor me)
My old HP started acting very strangely, so I backed everything up and ordered a Dell. Two days later, my old HP died a peaceful death.

It came today, the day after the HP died! Dell had a screaming deal through Dec.22:

$449 for a 2.8 chip, 256 ram, 40 gig hard drive, bla bla, AND A FREE 17" FLAT PANEL MONITOR. The catch is that there is no internal modem ($20 extra) and the warranty is only ninety days(can buy extended for $53). Also, you have to ask about the $200 in rebates and probably jump through some hoops to get it.

As long as the rebates come through, this is great.

I'M A HAPPY HAPPY COMPUTER BOY!

7. Yea
Correction: It was $499. I paid extra to double the RAM, added a DVD ROM, bumped the processor up to 3.0, and the modem.

Note: Dell is hiding this deal on their website. But you can go to www.dell.com/smb/499dimension and find it.

I thought I would never watch a movie on my computer but when I found this monitor taking up practically my whole field of vision, I went out and rented three movies tonight.

Yea, it is exciting. Being on the computer is my life.

Thanks for understanding.

12. Oh, I was happy with my old computer
I'd still have it if it did not die. I came into the cash under sad circumstances, too. I wish none of it had ever happened, but the comp is great.

5. Dude, I got an iBook!
I considered a PC format laptop until I used a friend's Mac. I love the O/S and the graphic interface. Additionally, it's much more stable than Windows. Good luck with the new purchase.

9. Upgrade it to 512MB of RAM and you'll be set. I prefer emachines or
home-built though.
