7. His Modern Lover drummer was...

...David Robinson, later of the Cars, and his keyboard player was Jerry Harrison, later of Talking Heads.

David Robinson left when Jonathan gave him a towel-covered snare drum and told him that was all he could play.

8. It was Jerry
I REMEBER NOW. I was looking on the talking heads site because I met a bombadier who said his brother in law had a band called Supertwang and one of their songs (REV IT UP) was written by Jerry, or he wrote a song for Jerry, I can't remember. I happened to have his album, The Red and the Black, but I think it was on another Jery album.

oddly, a friend of mine was jerry's roommate at college.

I think the most interesting car was Greg Hawkes. His little genere made a big comeback in gangster rap, they all had a little corny synth hook for while there. Of course it was new when Greg did it.

Did anyone get his solo album Hawkes and Doves?

9. Um, I remember *seeing* it.
Maybe even heard a track or two.

I only have a cassette of Ric Ocasek's Beatitude kicking around here somewhere.

10. I had Beatitude
one of the last albums I bought new. I was generally disappointed. I think I later decided that Ocasik was an asshole. Elliot Easton sure was, I remember his column in guitar player magazine, describing himself as "beyond" the "masturbatory" stage of guitar solos. well, where are you now mr great?

Saw him live twice. My wife had the 'pleasure' of his ass shaking right in her face as he strummed and moseyed around the lounge during one song.

I long for the day when his mid-80s Rough Trade recordings will be rereleased.

Oh, the beach be one of the best things we got
Where it's not what you have on, but what you have not
See who's bum you like the best
See who's got a hairy chest
And the beach be one of the best things we got
Okay, start up the car!

By the way, why do you ask?

11. I saw him in Albuquerque
at the Gold something, what was it? Gold Rush Saloon?

Pretty good, but weird. I think the drummer only had a snaredrum with a towel on it. I don't even think there was a bass player.
