Just watched "House of Sand and Fog". Wow! Very intense.

Not a real happy ending at all. But great acting by Kingsley and Jennifer Connely.
Did any Oscars come out of this great film?

1. I enjoyed most of it but then I just didn't like the end

I think it was based on a book but I'm just not into watching a movie to feel horrible when you get into it.

2. Don't know anything about the movie...

but it's a great book by Andre Dubus. The ending fits very nicely into the myth of the American Dream, how easily things slide away from so many of us, & how culture diversity is crushed if you don't "play the game" by the "rules" of the red, white, & blue. I thought it was an excellent tragedy & spoke concisely of the times we live in this country.

you are correct about Kingsley. He was nominated but didn't win as was the Iranian lady that played his wife (actress in a supporting role). She didnt win either.
