Anyone playing Sid Meier's Pirates?
I was a big fan of "Pirates Gold" and I remember playing it for hours on end. The night before I left for the Navy I played it on our old Commodore 128 most of the night. I bought it last week and it is totally addictive. When I first got into computers, I would play games like Civ 2, and MOOrion, and totally lose time. I would start playing, thinking "I will just play for an hour," and then I would look at my watch and HOURS will have passed. This is the first game in a while that it has happened again.

7. Is this a new game from him?
I havent paid much attention to computer games since I left the computer store I managed. But I have always loved his stuff. I *still* play Alpha Centauri on a regular basis.

What else has he put on in the last few years? The last thing I remember is the SimGolf game.

8. It is essentially a reinvention
of his original game from the late 80's early 90's. Basically you play a Pirate sailing the Caribbean preying on ships from 4 major world powers; the British, the Dutch, the French, and the Spanish. Gameplay includes navigating your ship, attacking other ships, swordplay with other captains, romancing governor's daughters, upgrading and outfitting your ship(s), managing crew's morale, advancing ranks within the different empires, attacking towns, finding buried treasure, among others.

10. HOLY CRAP YES!
I just found my old 3.5" disks a few weeks ago. They were at least 12 years old, but it installed perfectly and I've been playing it a lot lately.
