Can anyone recommend an analog-to-digital transfer service or program? |

My mother wants to preserve old reel-to-reel tapes of her Ukrainian grandparents talking and singing in the early 1950s, in fact, wants to put them on CDs. Does anyone here have experience with this kind of service?

I can't say I know of a national chain that does what you want, but I know here in Alabama there are several local stores that offer that service. So, I mean, if I can get that done here in 'Bama surely there's a service in your area that can provide what you're looking for. :-) Here, it ran me about 30-40 bucks to get something on DVD. Let your fingers do the walking. Good luck.

She called a local record store to see if they knew of any such service and they didn't. I'm sure I can find a place to get it done for her in NY.

It's not too hard to do. I run it as a service out of my home studio. You just have to get it in to a computer thru your soundcard and then burn it to disc. I run Adobe Audition. I load the music or whatever in to the computer and then bring it up in the software. I then split the songs or whatever and burn it to disc. If you were in the area I could do this for you.
