Wizard of Oz - the alternate ending

EMERALD CITY - DAY

The balloon has left without Dorothy. The Professor continues to whine about how he can't get the balloon back down. Dorothy weeps.

Glenda: Don't cry Dorothy. You have had the power all along to return to Kansas.

Dorothy: (after a beat, her expression changes, on the edge of anger now) What ?!

Glenda: Yes, those shoes. Just click the heels together three times and say...

Dorothy: Are you freaking serious!? I traipse all over this weird place, dodging fireballs, inhaling opium poppies and getting beat up by apple trees and now you tell me I didn't have to?!

Glenda: Well, you see, I... (Glenda turns into a bubble, starts to float away rapidly)

The Scarecrow grabs some his own straw, blows a splinter through it like a blowgun and pops the bubble. Glenda reappears, looking for an exit.

Glenda (forcing a smile): Oh, you're still here? You can leave now. Bub bye.

Dorothy and the others chase Glenda angrily, hands extended toward her throat.

Dorothy: Wait till I get my hands on you! Salem ain't got nothing on me sister! I'll burn you at the stake.

Others: Yeah, you witch! Come back here....

Benny Hill style chase begins.

Iris out. End titles.
