Anyone ever have their CD/DVD disappear from their computer? |
|
I've been having that problem for months. Sometimes it reappears, as if it had not gone missing for several weeks. But it never stays around long enough for me to really enjoy it. That means I can't burn CDs or listen to them. I get a message that says I have no CD drive, which I know I have one.

Could be a bad IDE cable, or the drive is going bad. Is the drive reliable when it's there? Another concern might be the power supply, though ususally you will experience more system-wide problems (PC shutting itself down, not booting up for periods of time, etc).

2. Could be several reasons. |

Might be a cable loose Might be your Bios
When you start your computer, go into the BIOS and make sure it reconnizes the cd-dvd drive.
You might want to take off your cover and make sure all your cables are seated well.
