25. May I note that all those numbers are
above zero?

We Minnesotans scoff at your Texas wimpitude!

One morning during my senior year of college, I woke up to hear the radio announcer say, "We're going to have a high of 27 below zero." What did I do? Get up and go to class, of course!

One day when I was in 7th grade, the high was 36 below zero. I walked the three blocks home from school, and when I walked in the door, my glasses immediately frosted up white. When I tried to take them off, I found that they were frozen to my nose.

Texans just don't know.

It's -2 degrees right now, by the way. :-)

27. I lived in Northern Alberta for 2 years
and it wasn't unusual for it to get to -60F (that's without the wind chill).

Other than having to get up much earlier to attempt to start the car, it was business as usual. The taxis were always busy on those frigid days, and the drivers gave me their secret to help start...they didn't turn the car off at night. Locked the door, and just kept it running.

Gas was cheaper in those days. ;)

10. Ok, just a hop on a plane...
:) I'll have to depend on homemade Chili and a couple beers to do that tonight :( But I did buy a new faux suede comforter! MMMMMM, warm!

13. After chili and beer
I am not sure I want to be UNDER a comforter. (joke!)

It's cold here too... down to 11 tonight and a high of 23 tomorrow! Too clear for snow though.

I love homemade chili by the way... not that I need that as an extra incentive to hop on the plane. :D

17. Yes, and yes

Northern AZ is NOT what you hear of or see when the state is propagandized in the media. No saguaro cactus, no 110 degree days. I live in the midst of the world's largest ponderosa pine forest.

This part of the state (the Coconino Plateau, part of the greater region of the Colorado Plateau) is at a very high altitude - my city is at 7,000 feet. We're at the base of the San Francisco Peaks (over 12,000 feet at their highest), which are sacred in different ways to the Navajo and Hopi.

The first snow of the season fell October 17th, a bit earlier than normal, but not that rare. We had a few feet fall in November and earlier this month.

It does get to the mid-or-upper-80's in the summer for a short while, averages upper 70's, and the air quality ranks in the Top 10 in the nation. :-)

Welcome mat is out! :hi:

6. At least you HAVE a DU sticker
We used to have one on the old car before it got junked - need to get another one to put on the Grey Ghost (or whatever we wind up calling the new vehicle).

And yes, it's cold here in Dallas, too.

18. Yes, toes are intact. Northern part of the nation gets cold!
It's not this cold all the time, only during some snaps. I am close to the Canadian border.

Usually it's around 5 degrees. On Friday it's supposed to get up there.

It wont go above 14 until March, unless we're lucky. Sometimes we get a warm air mass during winter and it'll hit 30.

Summer is hot hot hot!!! 70 - 90 for 3+ months. Spring and Autumn are nice....55 - 70 for a couple months on each end of summer

20. You must be in Big D or FW!
Or maybe amarillo or Lubbock. We might get snow on Friday all the way down here near the coast, southwest of Houston! Hasn't snowed here in ten years, IIRC.
