Why the rest of Canada resents Vancouver
A report on the deep freeze being felt back east. They gave a little rundown on the weather nation-wide. (Going to get down to -47 in Winnipeg with the windchill...) Then they show someone jogging on the seawall in Vancouver, flowers blooming in the foreground.

I'm so glad I don't live in Winterpeg.

4. Vancouver gets more rain than Seattle
A lot of time, they'll say Seattle is getting a storm, and then we won't. because it went north instead

3. Not only that
BC is quite the little economic miracle. I salivate when the CBC runs another "Move here and get a job!" ads.

10. Chiming in from Victoria, aka "Vancouver Junior".
All the fun of Vancouver, but with no line-ups, free parking on the weekends, and half the annual rainfall.

I love being a Victorian!

13. CanuckAmok! We're coming your way next summer. We visited
Vancouver Island right after 9/11 and loved it. I have Canadian citizenship through my mom, a Quebecoise, and we are thinking of retiring on VI. We're checking out the northern parts of the island this time, but we also loved Victoria. So European!

14. Hey! Winnipeg rocks!
Winnipeg is awesome. Usually you don't find a huge city in the middle of a prarie but BAM! There it is! A metropolis! And it's warm enough inside!

I wish I was in Winnipeg right now. Beats the socks offa any town in North Dakota.

19. "Sweet Home Manitoba"
Ooh. I love Winnipeg. Great people there. I was there one Christmas and it was like 40 below zero.
After a while, I got used to it, though.

and not tons of rain....Lotusland is overrated.

It's Winnipeg, not Winterpeg by the way.

I think it's preferable to have a little snow than out of control street gangs and homes nobody can afford anyways. ;)
