I had a dream. I had an AWFUL dream...
Edited on Thu Dec-23-04 07:19 AM by Cooley Hurd
...and, for the first time in a very long time, this one frightened me to my core.

I was standing on the shore of our camp on Cayuga Lake (NY), and off in the distance, I saw flashes followed by mushroom clouds. First one, then another, and another. Each one a bit closer than the previous. I ran to my car, but it wouldn't start (probably due to the electromagnetic pulsing of the explosions). I couldn't run. I couldn't scream. The ground was quaking beneath me with each successive blast. The final one was an air blast over the lake. The flash was blinding, searing... And, then I woke up.

No pithy statement from me - I'm still shaking...:scared:

Why do I feel I won't see myself as an elderly man?:(

on edit: I was in a very bad car accident on Dec 1 - wasn't hurt, but the violence of the accident was astounding - totaled my car, the other car was decimated (flipped over a few times and the roof was ripped off). The other driver, who was at fault, thankfully wasn't hurt too bad, although she was airlifted from the scene (as a precaution). I've been having dreams replaying the accident, as well...

4. Thanks for the laugh...
:)

You're correct - that would make everything else irrelevant, wouldn't it?

8. Lucky you.
Strangelove may have been the bit of bacon responsible.

10. Me too...
I'm a news junkie. Possibly being caused by CNN's new segment:

TERROR WATCH

I know... stop watching CNN, but like I said, I'm a news junkie. I just can't help myself!;)

9. I have those types of dreams too...
and I have for about 4 years now, seriously. Not "nookular" weapons always, but dark dreams, filled with unimaginable horrors. I blame them on the little evil monkey that sits in the big white house.

May I also say that I am glad that you are OK from that accident.

13. This recurring dream shakes me to the core
It always begins peacefully, surrounded by family and friends enjoying a bright sunny day in the summer. We begin to say grace before sitting to eat and I add a prayer silently to myself for God to please help end the tyranny of this present administration.

As I finish my prayer and look to the skies, I see a bright blue sky and out of the blue I see a large, black swastika. It's as if it's a message from God of what is to come or is already in place.

16. My grandmother's best friend was at Hiroshima during the bombing
My brother and I used to stay up late and listen to the adults play cards and talk(our parnets, grandparents, and this lady and her husband). Once, Yuki talked about what she had seen.

I still have nightmares.
