We're staying home this Christmas, the kids are coming in two shifts. One son and his girlfriend arrives on the 27th and is staying till the 2nd , the other son arrives on the 8th of Jan and stays till the 15th. How about you? .. share your plans ?

3. Snowed in
I know friends in New England would laugh, because we only have five inches or so. But Arkansas has this quaint notion that they don't have to salt and plow roads, and to get around, even in 4WD (which we don't have at present), can be extremely hazardous.

So we will likely be snowed in until at least Sunday, which is fine by me.

5. Costa Rica!
My best friend moved there in June because he couldn't handle what was happening here any longer (believe me, he tried his best). Anyhow, my gift is a trip to visit him and he's got lots in store. I've only been to Canada and Mexico so this is the farthest I've ever been (I got a passport for the first time in my 47 years)! I leave tomorrow and get back on the 1st. It'll be interesting to feel the vibe of a country that took themselves out of "The coalition of the Willing"! LOL - I don't even think they have an army which is fine by me.

6. Staying home for once....
I'm off tomorrow and Monday, so it'll be a nice four-day holiday. I plan to eat too much, drink too much, play with my kids, get some quality snuggle time with my wife, and just relax and reflect a little.

8. Jandrok! welcome to DU!!!!!!
Your Christmas sounds lovely! We too are doing much the same given that company doesn't arrive till 'after' Christmas day. Just the two of us and the dog and three cats of course. Nice and quiet .. a fire, some wine and a gift or two.
Merry Christmas!

13. Thanks very much for the welcome!
You sound like you have a most wonderful Christmas planned. Quiet is the theme for us as well, and we may even have a snow flurry or two to make it more seasonal. If I'm lucky, I'll stumble on Al Finney's version of "A Christmas Carol" and all will be well.

Merry Christmas to you too, auntAgonist!

14. DC to Philly for the day on Sat.
Haven't seen my cousin and one of my uncles in two years. Close enough we can pop up without having to spend a lot on a hotel and we can take our puppy

18. Might go to Chattanooga for a couple of nights after Christmas...
I need to visit the Choo Choo shop to pick up an item in a series that I buy every year.

And I adore Chattanooga.
