8. veggie lasagna
It's very festive with the red tomato sauce, white ricotta cheese and green grated zucchini.

We do the Estonian roast pork, sauerkraut, potatos, etc. on Christmas Eve.

13. My mom often had pork loin roast for our family Christmas
dinner.

My personal requirement is that it just be a really good meal, maybe featuring things you don't serve on an everyday basis.

Turkey/ham not requirements.

One of the best Christmas dinners I ever had was the year someone gave my grandfather a huge batch of quail, fresh from a hunting trip. My grandmother braised them in butter sauce, and we just gorged ourselves.

Special desserts are important too:
my other grandmother always made a chocolate cake with ground brazil nuts in it

my mom ( and later I was the"baker") always made a jam cake w/caramel icing, a fresh coconut cake, and a german chocolate cake at Christmas. Then no matter which family meal we were attending, there was a plate of sliced cake we could take along.

This year is still up in the air, just me and my daughter. May be a steak!
