This made me laugh.
Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her
excitement -- not even her parents' divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best
dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new,
young, wife Dolly had bought the exact same dress! Jennifer asked Dolly
to exchange it, but she refused. "Absolutely not. I look like a
million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she replied.

Jennifer told her mother, who graciously said, "Never mind
sweetheart, I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special
day."

A few days later, they went shopping again and did find another
drop-dead gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked
her mother, "Are you going to return the other dress? You really don't
have another occasion where you could wear it."

Her mother just smiled and replied, "Of course I do, dear. I'm
wearing it to the rehearsal dinner!"

Now, I ask you - What woman wouldn't love this story!

3. This is a wonderful story!
I'm going to print it out for my niece. She had "wedding problems" this summer. She had been planning her wedding for over a year. One of her bridesmaids got pregnant, which wasn't a big deal, but she decided to get married right beofre my niece, and was put out that my niece was so busy with her own wedding preparations. Friendships were lost over this.

5. I first heard this story in the 50s
It was meant to show that women were catty, petty, and that the biggest things in their lives were weddings and dresses.

If we are returning to that kind of thinking, I'm sure mother-in-law, and women driver's jokes won't be far behind.
