half my family still has no power from the ice storm |
|
So guess who's hosting the X-Mas party! My first time as a homeowner too. Not to mention my heathen house has no tree or decor of any kind. I better start cleaning and go get an "all-in-one" tree in a box. They'll all see my new DU sticker on the fridge too hehe

2. Decorate any trees or bushes in your yard |
|
with birdseed or popcorn. That's festive enough. Hope you bought all you power-less friends some batteries for gag gifts!

3. ice storms don't generate power |
|
so if they're waiting to get power from the ice storm, they're gonna be waiting a long time.
:-)
Sorry, had a literalist moment.
Friend of mine lived in a city that lost its power from a windstorm many years ago, and her neighborhood had no power for a week. Thankfully, it was summer, so not so bad, but the neighborhood rbought out their webbers and other grills, and all the food they had in the freezers and fridges, and they had a giant neighborhood picnic barbeque everyday for that week. She remembers that week quite fondly.
I hope your famil gets their power back soon! No power in the winter is rough. Best wishes to them all, and to you, who now have to emergency host Christmas!
