DU Photograghy Group contest.

Just for fun, the DU Photography Group has decided to hold our first ever photography contest. There's a lot of great talent down there and we thought we would like to share it all with the rest of you.

There are no real winners or losers, this is all just a friendly competition to give all of you a chance to see what we've been up to.

I hope I got everybody's names right, it's been a busy week.

There were a few other people who wanted to enter but didn't sign up in time, I'll be posting their photos in this thread soon. And my apologies if you didn't get a chance to participate this time.

7. Someone actually did suggest holding these contests

more frequently, as well as maybe having a theme. This is the first time we tried anything like this, so hopefully, it could become a regular thing.

Since I organized and will be moderating the contest, I disqualified myself and my uber-vain self-portrait, which incidentally won the DU Photography group award for Most Posted Pic.

They're all good and I won't say which I actually voted for but on second viewing I thought #1 was, well, er, #1. Take a good long look at that one and you'll see. It's a perfect composition.

13. I'm not saying who I voted for either...

but I've seen a much larger version of #1 and it is incredible. if you look closely you can see gold fish swimming beneath the water. Contrast that with the mountains above...it is so cool.

The poster who summited it had some image hosting problems so unfortunately this is the best image we have right now...

17. Yeah, I didn't get the full effect on first glance. Didn't see the fish

But when you do see them, the swimming pattern is a nice complement to the rolling hills.
