Wah, I'm at my folks' house!
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 05:11 PM by Longgrain
I feel like such a loser, I'm 32 years old and right now I'm forced to live with my parents. They're great folks, and Christmas eve is still fun, but I see these people every day. It's so "That's 70s Show"ish.

It's so embarrassing too, just try bringing a lady over to your pad. "Hey baby, wanna see my place? Maybe mom will make us milk and cookies."

Any other adults out there forced to live at home for the time being?

7. Hang in there George.
And Happy festivus right back at ya.

My father and my brother are also both unemployed, part of the reason why I'm living with them, ya know to help out. Neither of them can seem to find anything around where we live so, it's kind of tough.

I hope things get better for you...

3. Not currently, but it's happened before.
I know it chafes while you deal with it, but retrospectively, I'm so lucky to have good people for parents who are there for me when I need them.

I read a few stories now and again of the people on DU, and other places I read and post, - and it just boggles the mind how many have been deeply hurt and scarred by their own families.

:pals:

Hang in there. Your time will come.

5. Ahhhh.. thanks for your kind encouragement.
I feel like such a weirdo sometimes because my family is "normal" what ever that means.

We have had our share of really trying times, my problems are the most trivial among my family members, so I'm really not complaining.

Besides I wouldn't want to depress anyone on Christmas Eve...

Thanks again :pals:

4. When I Was 25 My Apt. Was $240.00 Per Month
it was a cool place too. I'm sure now it's renting for $1000.00 or more.

I don't know how in the hell anyone who doesn't have a killer job can enjoy living independently. I never wanted a room mate and was grateful I could afford my little place, even on my pitiful salary back then.

I drive in the burbs and am astonished that people can afford to pay for these monster homes. Just covering all the windows must cost a fortune, heating, water.

You're not alone - sure there are many of you out there.

Nevermind on most of my earlier post.

You're lucky to have family who can be there for you. Some of aren't so lucky and have to live in some pretty lousy situations for the time being, in part, because of that. :(

14. Happiness is not something I can even think about.
I need to not be such a pathetic, whiny freak here and go take care of things I need to do tonight.

13. Look at me...
Vent...I understand...

And I hope you understand me too...

I definitely wasn't complaining, and thank you there is a lot of love in our group. And i realized recently too that I still haven't gotten over my last relationship, so it's been kind of a trying time...there's lots more i could tell you about me and my family that would make you cry...but i have a smile on my face.

If you'd like to talk though, I'll be here throughout most of the evening...:hi:

10. I lived with my folks
When I was 30.

We don't get along - however they realized I was an adult and they treated me as such. I was allowed to have men stay over and when I met CO Liberal he stayed over on weekends.

I feel for you - it sucks to be an adult and live with your folks.

Hang in there - eventually you'll be out on your own again.
