Poll question: Are You Happy?
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 08:53 PM by Placebo
I'm feeling pretty neutral right now. Nice and quiet "calm before the storm" so to speak.

1. Let's see
Warm house? Check.
Food? Check.
Smokes? Check.
Computer with internet connection? Check.
Holiday vacation? Check.

Yep, I'm happy.

2. Contemplating whether to use the Xmas shotgun or the Xmas noose
Nah, not that bad. Feeling pretty alone though. Three months ago I figured I'd be surrounded by the woman and future step-kids I loved right now.

Still fortunate to have family to be with tomorrow, friends around to give me a hard time, and the miracle of Internet that brings DU.

All we can do is make the best out of how life's path winds. :)

3. Aww, I'm sorry.
At least you're not alone, that's a good thing.

4. I'm working on it.
But I think I'm going to get drunk tonight (and I generally drink very little) regardless. I don't feel so good and the holidays make it harder sometimes.

5. Sarah, drinking is not going to make you feel better.
Really. Go call one of your friends. Even an old friend. That will work better than any drinking will.

C'mon, perk up! :pals:

12. I'm a good girl as always.
I had two beers and I'm now back into responsible mode doing all the stuff I have to do tonight.

No time for fun.
No time for enjoyment.
No time for anything.
People need me.

6. Not at all happy at the moment....
...and it's not the usual holiday seasonal depression this time. Woke up this morning and found myself coming down with some fucking nasty cold or flu or whatever, and am now facing the probability of spending this Christmas totally alone. Wouldn't be fair to infect the whole family after all (even the ones who might deserve it).

10. In the lyrics of an old Christmas carol......
And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”

Even more true now than in 1864 when written. And the same damn fucking idiots largely responsible now as then.

9. I am happy about my own little part of the world
I have more than I need and the love of a wife and 2 kids.

But I am NOT happy about the world in general and how things are going politicaly, etc.

11. No, partly due to the conditions outside
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 09:42 PM by American Tragedy
It has been literally impossible to get my car out of the driveway, much less drive my little vehicle on roads covered in a thick layer of ice.

I hate being stuck inside here all week. It's very remote. And since everybody I know is out of town, I've only been able to speak briefly with them on the phone, which just isn't the same. I'm not a big phone person.
