Okay, Time to Fess Up
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 11:08 PM by Spacemom
How long do you leave the Christmas tree up?

During my semi-dysfunctional childhood, I can remember years that the tree didn't come down until the first part of February. Not for any joy of the season, everyone was just too lazy to take it down. :D

Now I don't like to leave it up more than a couple of days past Christmas, it depresses me. I'm taking ours down Monday.

2. I didn't put one up this year,
only us two old people but I usually put it up the week before Christmas and take it down a day or so after New Years day.

6. No tree here either. We left it in the loft.
Hell, I thought we were doing good to actually wrap 3 presents this year. And that was a stretch.

7. Three Kings Day or whatever it's called.... Jan. 6.
Hate taking it down though, because the living room looks so bland after all that decoration.

8. My family has always said it is bad luck
if you take the tree down before the new year - Jan 1 that sucker is outta here.

Since I've had my share of bad luck (and more than my share of good luck) I can't really tell you if it works or not.

10. Yeah, the Epiphany
My family's tradition is to get the tree a week or two before Christmas, and leave it up until at least Jan. 6 (and it usually stays up a lot longer, just because).

My family considers it bad luck if you don't get all your laundry done before midnight on New Years Eve. Or maybe that's just a lie Mom always told us so we'd actually do it.

11. Until Mardi Gras.
Just kidding, although I did leave it up almost to Mardi Gras two years ago, because I had a broken knee and couldn't take it down.
