Dukes of Hazard Movie question.

I've seen some screen shots. The General Lee (The car for those not paying attention) is the same with one exception. The Confederate Battle Flag is missing from the roof of the car.

Now here is the question:

Was this done because

A) The Confederate Battle Flag is offensive to many people and the film makers didn't want to offend anyone

B) The Confederate battle Flag is offensive to many people and they want to make as much money as possible

C) The Confederate Battle Flag is offensive and could have caused groups to protest the film

D) They will probably destroy around 50 Dodge Chargers in the making of the movie and didn't feel like painting all those stars on the top of each one

E) Other, please explain.

Also, in order to be a true film version of the television show, should the flag have been put on the top of the car? It isn't as if we didn't already know that the Dukes of Hazard were a bunch of racist hillbillies to begin with. They lived in Georgia in the 1970's and their uncle was in the moonshine business. Plus, they say "yee haw" a lot. The target market for this film is obviously southern folks or folks that enjoyed the show back in the 70's.

In my opinion, the film may even get protested because the flag is not present, so it's probably a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" type scenario.

LDS, is this the way you have always heard that saying or do you need to start another poll about it? :-)

absence of the flag. From the usual suspects.

2. They did a couple of tv movies with the original cast

recently, and they did use the Confederate flag on the car without protest.

As far as your post, I'm thinking A, B, and C were all factors. And if the movie is too realistic to the show, would anyone go to see it? Not that I see this being a huge hit anyway. Although, Bo Duke did look good in those tight jeans. Hmm..

knoxville and scott are very good but the real clincher is burt reynolds as boss hog and willie nelson as uncle jessie!!!!! i watched every episode of the dukes of hazard..why i don`t know... other than daisy was scorching hot!!!

why most folks slow down when they see an accident on the interstate. They're pretty sure they don't want to see a decapitated head or random body parts strewn across the highway, but curiousity gets the best of them and they look anyway. :-)
