Since Bon Jovi uses Duracell, I will never use Duracell. Ever.
Because Bon "I have No Talent Whatsoever" Jovi, the "rock" "star" has as much talent as the runny bowel movement I flushed down the toilet this morning and has all the relevance and pertinance to human life that a gangronous limb has to the proctology exam of its owner.

If Duracell is in the business of supporting no-talent loser smegma inhalers, then I won't support that company.

1. Jon Bon Jovi has worked tirelessly and donated lots of money
to the Democratic Party.

Not to mention the money he's raised for the Dems.

Also, he does extensive volunteer work with the Special Olympics.

3. Well, that might be - but it doesn't discount the fact
that as an artist, he's pathetic.

But I applaud him his good democratic leanings, if they're true.

8. Well, how the hell should I know?
If I just accepted your word, without a footnote or a link or something, I'd be no different than the braindead assfilth on FreeRepublic who do no due diligence and simply believe every lie spewed by Limpdick, coulter, and O'lielly and etc.

Don't "oh boy" me - I'm being diligent. I have no idea of his personal life. You should applaud me for wanting to seek the truth and be sure of sources, instead of poo-pooing me for asking for validation of your claims.

11. It was on the news a lot, both in 2000 and 2004.
It wasn't his 'personal life' but it was very public and the rallies were on CSPAN and in the newspaper and CNN and MSNBC.

Sorry to offend you so much.

13. Well, that explains it. I don't watch news
DU is pretty much the only place I get my news from, and I don't remember seeing any posts here about Bon Jovi and his liberal leanings. (that doesn't mean there weren't any, obviously; just that I didn't see them - or if I did, I might very well have ignored them).

I'm sometimes amazed at the important news I HAVE missed over the years because I don't have a TV and I don't read any papers (mostly because I get so damned angry whenever I do, that I now avoid them all, and let the lounge filter all the important news for me).

I just found out last week that Tom Brokaw retired. I had no idea. Apparently it was big news at the time, and I still managed to miss it. And, this is embarassing, but it was just last year that I found out that ee cummings was a man.

15. I understand. Since the election, I've all but stopped
watching cable news or reading the paper. Even with CSPAN I tread cautiously.

Just can't take it anymore . . .

Not much of a Bon Jovi fan myself, but enjoyed myself along with the rest of the crowd. Pretty high energy event, lots of fun.

5. Hear,hear. I'm not impressed with Bon Jovi's music but for that matter
I don't pay anyone who performs in spandex any mind. However, the guy's heart is in the right place and he has devoted much time and money to good causes.

20. HOWEVER....
I was listening to Howard Stern one morning while driving to work, and Howard was complementing him on his career & success. JBJ took this as a cue to crow about how great his life is: big house, trophy wife, lot's of money, "...and eight inches!!!". He sounds like a totally juvenile maroon.

to begin my day with a nice cup of coffee.

I'm glad I could brighten up your shitty Christmas! Or should I say, your "Bon Jovi-y" Christmas?

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

6. I don't know anything about Bon Jovi
But I expected this post to tell me a relevant reason for not using Duracell. Perhaps he was a large contributor to the repubs. All I'm hearing is your crudedly expressed opinion. So just what is the point of this?

Maybe you're a wannabe rock star?

9. Nah, Jon Bon Jovi raised money for Al Gore in 2000
and for the Dems in 2004.

Bon Jovi was even harassed for supporting Kerry's presidential bid in 2004, and I remember reading a news article about it.

A quick Google of Bon Jovi would show how hard he's worked for the Dems.

that I'm actually jealous of Bon Jovi.

Whew! Boy, do I ever feel better finally admitting it out loud to other people.

That is reason enough to use ONLY Duracell batteries.

and so feel utterly compelled to kick this thread.

Thank you, O JBJ, for supporting the dems. But, please, get yourself out of the world of art, for you are tainting it and you are tainting our collective unconscious.

I don't care for his music, either. It's just not my style. But JBJ's okay in my book.

The guy's a historic liberal with long-time financial support for Dems. Plus he's a celebrity that's actually managed to stay married and devoted to his family. That's no small feat these days.

(I'm sorry your band never took off. Maybe someday someone will appreciate your genius.)

29. Gee Rabrrrrrr, it's just not your night...
Bonjiovi is not only a good dem, but I think as radio fare goes, he does a darn fine job. They've actually churned out some really good pop tunes over the years (I wouldn't buy it....).

BUT, the biggie is that it has been independently verified that Duracell is the best.
